The Science Behind Why Giving Makes You Happier

As the festive holidays draw to a close, it may feel as though the season for giving is over for another year. But what if we could make the spirit and happiness that comes with giving to those we love last all year round? Well, as with most things in life, you most certainly can make it last!

Studies show that not only will giving to others make the recipient happy, it also makes you feel wonderful. In fact, giving a gift causes the pleasure and reward centres in your brain to light up as though you were actually the one receiving a gift. Your body releases endorphins that make you feel great and the effects can last for up to two hours. So why not make it you goal in 2015 to spread a little bit go kindness every day?
