Some companies and individuals have started to advocate using a standing desk recently, but few studies have showed any quantified evidence that productivity or efficiency could actually improve. The Synqk company in New York City did a one month study of the productivity, the results, and the health of employees in order to determine whether it was a worthwhile pursuit.
As it turns out, productivity was slightly up, results were far better, and the happiness index at the workplace indicated a happier attitude in general. While a single month trial may not be enough to convince most people, it is a great case study in how standing desks can make you far more efficient in the workplace.
