The beautiful and captivating video was created by writer and director Torre Catalano. Torre himself lives with OCD, and he says he made the heartfelt video to give “people a little glimpse into my own galaxy”, as well as to help other people suffering with OCD realize they are not alone.
The emotional video portrays many of the daily struggles and challenges faced by someone living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The video highlights how hard even daily activities can be for sufferers, from getting out of bed to making breakfast, which helps to raise awareness of OCD as a serious, life-changing disorder.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is an anxiety disorder of the brain and behaviour, often characterized by intrusive thoughts, which is often extremely difficult to live with. The symptoms can produce feelings of uneasiness, fear, worry and stress.
Management of the condition includes medication, behavioral therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. The International OCD Foundation currently funds grants and research into finding the most effective treatment methods for people who live with OCD.
