Many take for granted the concept of having a simple guy as boyfriend. It is sort of easier to have a heroic, rough and hard type of guy that is depicted in romance novels or movies as our boyfriends. Facing the reality, every girl deserves someone who is sincere, humorous and caring as a boyfriend. Most times this type of person is not so far away. And you have to start appreciating such person if you have him close by now. Here are ten reasons why you are lucky if your boyfriend is a simple guy.

1. He is calm, cool and ready to listen

A simple guy wants to know what your problems are and is ready to be there to listen. A simple guy is attentive and he won’t halt you as you uncover your fears, worries and problems on him.

2. He wants you to laugh or at least he wants to see you smile

Sometimes what he says may be ridiculous. But his intention is to ease you and make you relaxed. And yes, he can make you laugh at almost any situation; even during moments you do not want to laugh.

3. He is not combative

There are times when emotions are high and we have cause to say something spiteful or get vengeful. But a simple guy is not after creating problems where they do not exist. He doesn’t want to amplify a crisis. Perhaps this is because of his tender nature or his discomfort at picking fights.

4. He is not domineering

Although he wants to be there for you and to be supportive of your actions, he doesn’t bully you to have his way. Even when it may seem you are stubborn and not willing to give in, he will always be there to have you come home to a “welcome back” gift.

5. He is sincere

Simple guys don’t play games. They don’t have the attitude to lie to you or manipulate you. To the simple guy, playing games is immature.

6. Simple activities with you are great

Simple and unsophisticated activities such as watching his sports team win or getting him pizza is enough to make a great day with him.

7. He likes you the way you are

He is not concerned about your change in weight, beliefs or principles. He understands that everyone has his or her own right to make decisions. And he is able to accept these decisions without any fuss or ill-temper. Your individuality is a celebration for him.

8. He doesn’t freak out

If you are not responding his text messages, chats or returning his calls his not enough for him to have an emotional outburst. He doesn’t freak out because he is sensitive to your every action.

There could be difficult situations in your relationship that is meant to make him panic or intolerant of you. However he is brilliant at so such moments. He exercises patience and takes hardships as they come. He thinks and carefully analyzes the situation rather than react to it in frenzy.

10. He is comfortable with the people you care about

There is no tension when you introduce him to strangers. As far as you are cool with this person, he is willing to go along with it. He gets along with everyone.

11. He is not going to steal you away

He understands that you are also obligated to your friends and family. When you are happy with your friends and family, it makes him glad.

When you hurt him, he doesn’t hold grudges. Once explanations are provided, he forgets it and moves on to getting you Italian food.

There are many great reasons to have a simple guy around. If you want a loving man for the long term, it is better to stick to that simple guy and appreciate him all along the way.

Who has never gone through some ups and downs in the life? But some people can feel better in a quicker way than others because they’ve found their own remedies to heal the bad feelings.

If you haven’t found yours, these ways will help you instantly feel better and ditch that negative self talk when you’re feeling bad about yourself:

  1. Listen to the songs you loved when you were in high school or university, this will recall you of the old good times.
  2. Write something. Write down how you feel as a way to express your thoughts if you don’t feel like talking to anyone.
  3. Draw something. Draw anything you want because no one’s going to judge your drawing skills.
  4. Read the postcards or letters your friends or family sent you before, remind yourself there are people who always remember you.
  5. Silently think of a day or moment which you truly enjoyed and try to recapture that very first feeling. Was it the day of your graduation? The moment you traveled with your loved one?
  6. Take out your photo albums and go over your childhood photos.
  7. Cry when you feel like doing so. There’s nothing wrong with crying; cry out all your fear and stress and just face the truth after crying.
  8. Sing loudly like no one can hear you. Do you know that in Japan, people always sing karaoke to relieve stress?
  9. Cook a nice meal for yourself or for your family.
  10. Read your previous diary entries and look at your great memories.
  11. Dress up nicely to feel happier.
  12. Don’t stay in your bed! Get your laptop or a book and sit in a coffee place.
  13. Take a walk outside and feel the fresh air.
  14. Sweat yourself! Go jogging or play some sports.
  15. Pick up the musical instrument you used to play a lot and start to play it.
  16. Tidy up your desk or wardrobe, you’ll feel good that you’re being productive and actually doing something.
  17. Watch some funny videos, sure you can find a lot of them on Youtube.
  18. Eat something you like, be it a chocolate cake, or an ice-cream. Just please yourself with the flavour you like.
  19. Re-read your favorite book and write down the sentences or passages that you love.
  20. Watch a new movie, there must be a movie which you’ve always interested in but had no time to watch it.
  21. Do something nice that no one will notice, say picking up a rubbish in the street and throw it to a trash bin.
  22. Call your best friend and just talk whatever you want! Human beings are social animals after all, connecting with people close to you will make you feel better.
  23. Do voluntary work and help people in need, you’ll feel happy and satisfied.
  24. Get drunk with your close friends at home – a safe place for you to get drunk and get crazy. Let loose and have fun with your very close friends.
  25. Write an email or a note to a friend who you care about.
  26. Get out of your routine life and meet new friends. Get out of your comfort zone! Meeting new people can give you new inspirations in life.
  27. Look into the mirror and smile. Act like today’s already a wonderful day. How we act affects how we feel. It’s difficult to go on feeling sad if you’re trying to smile!
