Everyone hates under eye bags and those pesky fine lines and wrinkles that magically appear around your eyes wreaking havoc on your face.

Fumiko Tokatsu, a face yoga expert and the creator of the Face Yoga Method, has developed a yoga technique that can help get rid of puffy eyes and eye wrinkles.

Causes of Eye Puffiness and Wrinkles

There are many causes of eye wrinkles and puffiness and effectively determining the cause is the first step of the elimination process:

  • Lack of sleep
  • Sleeping on your stomach or side
  • Break down of collagen and elastin
  • Dry skin under your eyes
  • Allergies and sinus infections
  • Excess drinking
  • Rubbing your eyes
  • Too much salt
  • UV sun rays

How to get rid of puffy eyes and wrinkles

The quickest way to naturally get rid of bags or at least reduce their appearance is to use Tokatsu’s facial yoga exercise she calls “the eye bag toner.”  It specifically targets under eye bags and wrinkles.  The method is a quick, simple to perform and can be done anywhere.

Here’s how to do this quick facial stretch:

  1. Look straight ahead
  2. Open your mouth wide making a long “O” shape
  3. Look upward without moving your forehead
  4. Hold the stretch for 5 seconds
  5. Repeat 3 times

Other things you can do to get rid of puffy eyes and reduce the appearance of wrinkles in addition to performing “the eye bag toner” are:

  • Reduce salt intake
  • Sleep on your back
  • Stop smoking
  • Protect your eyes from UV rays
  • Reduce alcohol intake
