Barbara Corcoran, one of the six investors featured on the hit ABC show Shark Tank, has a lot of wisdom to share and divulges a lot of that knowledge in this video. She explores her entrepreneurial history in far more depth than her short introduction at the beginning of Shark Tank episodes. Barbara Corcoran talks about her trouble with reading and writing through third grade, which were her first tastes of failure. The next was when her first first love and business partner who loaned her $1,000 to start her real estate business left her. She learned from her new husband about the internet and put videos of her properties online, which caused her to immediately start making sales.
That two year head start on the internet was a huge factor of her success, and was all due to her “failure” with her first love and other business ventures. Her diligence in the face of rejections in real estate and her vye for a spot on Shark Tank are the main reason she’s now one of the best-known businesswomen in the world. It’s inspiring to hear how Barbara Corcoran didn’t let failure or rejection stop her, so I would highly encourage you to watch the video above.
