Let’s face it: the current state of unemployment in the world is pretty depressing. Sadly, there are currently over 13 million unemployed individuals in the US alone. Even though things have gotten better within the past 5-6 years, there are still many people struggling day-to-day and living in poverty. This infographic really breaks everything down and shows how many people in the United States are being effected by economic hardship.

Did you know that the average person is unemployed for 37.2 weeks? That’s only 3/12 months from being unemployed for an entire year. Did you know that 7.7 million people only work part-time? Not only that, but 1 in every 4 part-time works live in poverty, compared to the 1 in every 20 full-time works who live in poverty. That’s a big difference.

As you can see, the current state of unemployment is dreadful and it doesn’t look like it will get much better any time soon. As a matter of fact, the infographic states that by 2030 close to 85% of working adults in the US will experience bouts of economic insecurity. If you’d like to help spread the word regarding unemployment in the US, be sure to share this infographic with your friends and family.
