It seems like everywhere you turn, you’re hearing about the cloud. Not clouds in the sky, but clouds in the Internet – for storing and accessing files and other data. What’s great about cloud storage is that it doesn’t take up any space on your computer, but there’s one downside: security.

Your data is never 100% private or secure in the cloud, no matter what the provider you’re using says. So how can you combat this scary and serious issue? You can start by using your own private cloud service such as the stylish hub in the video below, called Sherlybox. It works like a cloud service, but there is one downside: your data stays on your computer. If you have plenty of space though, you wouldn’t really have to worry about this.

What’s nice about Sherlybox is that you don’t have to wait for your files to sync; they’re available immediately. Plus, you get unlimited storage without the monthly fees. It’s much like having your own private network, except it’s also portable. I’m not a fan of the all-white Sherlybox, but that’s alright because there are four other different color combinations to choose from. With it’s small size, sleek design and impressive features it seems like the perfect storage device.
