Are you aware that extended viewing of a computer monitor can cause headaches, blurred vision, vertigo and trouble refocusing? This temporary condition, known officially as Computer Vision Syndrome, does not have to trouble you. To prevent such symptoms you just need to take regular breaks to give your eyes a rest. Of course, knowing you should, and actually doing it are not the same thing.

If you’re troubled by the ill effects of long term-viewing, but need a reminder to look away, Martin Brinkmann from Ghacks recently review an app you should check out. EyePro is a free Windows program that, once configured, pops up to remind you to give your eyes a rest. At the time intervals you specify, a pop up will cover your screen and caution you to look away. It even suggests a few ergonomic exercises to help out your hands and wrists.

If you know anyone who suffers from regular fatigue or strain of the eyes, recommend this to them.

EyePro pops up to protect your eyes.

Taking frequent breaks will protect your eyes from the symptoms of CVS.
