Who knew you could sweat your clothes clean?
At Dalian Nationalities University in China, students may have found a way through a new concept of a bike washing machine. If you have a few items of clothing you need to wash and you happen to need a stress relieving bike ride than you are in luck! According to the students interviewed on a future inventions website Tuvie, “When you ride this bike, the pedaling motion causes the drum of the washing machine to rotate; at the same time, superfluous electricity is generated which can be used to power the display screen or [be] stored for future use.” This is a brilliant invention for those who have a small load of laundry they need to get done.
The machine encourages health and fitness in a creatively clean way and it’s great for those who want to watch their favorite show, workout, or manage laundry before it piles up too high. Yet, there still seems to be a lot of questions. Where will the water and soap come and go, and how long do you need to pedal to clean the clothes? Will the machine be affordable? What will the maintenance fees be if something breaks, and how will these clothes dry? The concept is unique, and like all concepts will need to go through a rigorous process of testing until it is ready to go on the market. In the meantime, bike lovers, tech enthusiasts, and multi-tasking gurus will have to stick to their current routines. We have designers Xuefei Liu, Di Fang, Linhao Su, Zhanbing Li, Xiaoyu Gao Xueyi Wang, Wen Fan, Liying Zhu, Deqian Zhao, Huan Li, Mengmeng Hu and Weiwei Li of Dalian Nationalities University to thank for the concept described and shown below.
