Delivery-themed startups have taken flight, with Amazon’s Prime Air and Google’s Project Wing expecting to collide head-on when they go all guns blazing. The concept of sharing economy has fuelled the need to strengthen their delivery system, and this is what Project Wing aims to achieve. But, due to the endless possibilities it brings, it remains to be seen what is served when the Project Wing finally hits the commercial market.
Being developed for over two years at Google X’s secretive lab, Project Wing is aimed at making it easier to deliver a variety of materials, groceries, and more, to interior regions. This project can help in retail and commercial delivery, but the project is still under the developmental phase and Google has yet to announce what it plans to use the drone delivery system for. However, no matter what Project Wing finally achieves, it is going to be extraordinary as Google is known to settle for nothing less. This might be a problem for Amazon’s ambitious Prime Air project.
