Watching YouTube videos is fun, especially at work; you just don’t want your boss to see it. Sometimes, in your mad haste to switch tabs and appear busy, you may not have time to pause your video before clicking away. You know it’s playing; you can imagine the cat ninja sneaking towards the camera even as your boss looks over your shoulder, but you’re missing the action. Wouldn’t it be great if you could pause YouTube automatically when you switched away? Firefox extension developer Dreistein thought so, and thus we have YouTube Smart Pause.

This handy extension automatically pauses any YouTube video you’re viewing when you select another tab. When you return to your video tab it will then automatically resume where you left off. You don’t even have to click play. Check out the video below from Tekzilla Daily Tips to see the extension in action.

Share this extension with your friends so they can pause YouTube automatically too.
