Viggle is the TV-watching app referenced above, and it works by listening to your television while you watch shows. If you can get over the Orwellian feeling that may cause, points will accrue which allow you to get gift cards and other such prizes. Not bad if you are already committed to the couch.
On the flip side, there is Jingit. This one might fall into the “weird” category for some people, while other may not mind it. Basically you are paid to watch advertisements, and then answer questions about them.
