Let’s say you get home from work and decide to watch your favorite show on TV. Wouldn’t it be awesome to actually get a kickback from the time you spent doing that activity? That is just one of the interesting capabilities that these apps give you when it comes to saving money and getting rewards. This list outlines the most popular phone applications that can essentially put money in your pocket. While some make sense, others may not work so well in practice (would you want to get paid to watch ads?).
Viggle is the TV-watching app referenced above, and it works by listening to your television while you watch shows. If you can get over the Orwellian feeling that may cause, points will accrue which allow you to get gift cards and other such prizes. Not bad if you are already committed to the couch.
On the flip side, there is Jingit. This one might fall into the “weird” category for some people, while other may not mind it. Basically you are paid to watch advertisements, and then answer questions about them.
