I’ve definitely been justifiably accused of ghosting out of a party — that is, leaving without saying goodbye to anyone. When I do this, I’m not trying to be rude. I don’t want to insult my host(s), but some social interactions are difficult to navigate, and I never know when or how to say goodbye at a party. There are certain situations when you should make an effort to say goodbye — at least to your host — and others where it is perfectly acceptable to leave quietly.
