Since 2011, Google has put on the Google Science Fair, a web-based international science and technology competition for individuals or teams 13 to 18 years old. Young people from around the world submit their projects to the competition, and Google shows off projects that won recognition and showcases the amazing teens behind them.
One of those teens is Elif Bilgin, a 16 year old from Instabul, Turkey, who won the Google’s 2013 Voter’s Choice Award as well as the Scientific American Science in Action Award. Elif has a dream for a less wasteful planet, a passion for research and innovation, and a lot of banana peels. Watch Elif demonstrate her sustainable project and get inspired to make the world a cleaner, greener place.
