Why Sleep Matters

Sleep is awesome!

Get to bed on time and you will be energized, productive, and healthier. Of course you already knew that. Still, most of us choose to ignore it – only 7% of people get eight hours of sleep a night.

You might be thinking, “what’s the big deal, it’s only sleep.”

Well, truth is, skimping on shuteye can literally kill you.

If you are not sleeping enough you are increasing your risk of heart disease, cancer, obesity and even death. If you don’t believe me, see for yourself:

    Told you so!

Now, that you’ve been sufficiently scared into changing your sleep habits, let’s look at how you can fall asleep faster. For starters, try staying awake. It seems counter-intuitive, but Paradoxical Intention actually works. So does turning the temperature down in the bedroom. Or, you could try tiring yourself out by exercising at some point during the day.

Whatever you do, don’t sleep too much. More than nine hours of sleep is bad for us too.
