Scientists and researchers have shown that drinking two liters of cold water per day can result in the body burning an additional 123 calories. For people trying to lose weight quickly, this can be nearly 10% of daily caloric intake.

When you drink cold water, it reduces the temperature of the body, which must work extra hard in order to raise your body temperature. This is often called a thermic cost, which can make your fat loss goals a whole lot simpler to achieve.
