“The more you have traveled, the more you realize how little you have seen.” – Gunther Holtorf

When Gunther Holtorf began an 18-month road trip around Africa with his wife Christine back in 1989, he couldn’t have imagined just how far he’d really end up going.

Over the past 26 years, Holtorf has visited 177 countries and driven over 550,000 miles in his trusty Mercedes-Benz G Wagon, which he and his late wife affectionately named Otto.

Whilst in Vietnam in 2012, Holtorf met up with Canadian photographer David Lemke to share his wonderful adventures and life with the world. Take a glimpse at how one man spent a quarter of a century breaking social norms and exploring the Earth; let him inspire you to take more risks and go on more daring adventures.
