Ingredients
For each of these delicious doughnut monstrosities, you will need:
1 doughnut. You can choose any kind of doughnut you like. If you would like to start from scratch and make your own doughnuts, here’s a fantastic collection of recipes from Taste Spotting.
1 huge scoop of coffee ice cream – or any other kind of ice cream that you may prefer.
Chocolate to melt.
Directions
1. Allow the ice cream to soften a bit by leaving it on your kitchen countertop whilst you prepare your doughnut.
2. Cut your doughnut in half, a bread knife works best.
3. Place a scoop of ice cream on a plate, it’s really up to your how much you wish to use. Flatten the scoop of ice cream, preferably with a spatula, so that the scoop is a similar size and circumference of the doughnut.
4. Then, place your ice cream frisbee on the bottom half of your doughnut, place the other half over the top to make a sandwich.
5. Put your doughnut sandwich in the freezer whilst you…
6. Melt the chocolate.
7. Whilst the chocolate is hot, dip half your sandwich into it.
8. Serve immediately and beware: it may get messy.
