Digitial Camera and Camera Phone into Scanner

Digitial Camera and Camera Phone into Scanner

Possible? Yes. There is a new service called ScanR which accepts digital photos (resolution higher than one megapixel), and convert this into a searchable PDF format. The good scenario to use this is when you are travelling and you need a document in electronic format real bad, or you wrote your ideas on the whiteboard and you need to keep the ideas as electronic notes:

Using scanR is as simple as sending a picture. Just take a picture, send it to scanR and you’ll receive the scan in your email.
1. Take a picture
Position your camera over your document or whiteboard. Fill the viewer screen as much as possible without cutting off anything you want to scan. For best results, try turning the camera 90 degrees to the left or right to find the direction that fills the most of the screen. Hold still and take the picture.
2. Send it to scanR
Send pictures of whiteboards or documents to:

wb@scanR.com for whiteboards scans
doc@scanR.com for document scans or faxes

If you want to send a copy to someone else, just include their email address in the subject or body of the message. If you want to fax a document include the fax number in the subject or body of the message.
3. Check your email
You will receive a copy of your scan in your email as a PDF attachment. If you sent a fax, you will also receive a text message when the fax is successfully received. It takes less than a minute to receive an email and up to five minutes to receive a fax.
