Many of us will have been called names throughout our lives, and barely anyone is innocent of calling out someone else. We are all aware of how hurtful and harmful this behaviour is but we often let it continue without a word, arguably the most worrying example of which is when children are bullied in school they are often simply told to ignore the bully. In this new video for their anti-bullying No Bystanders campaign, Stonewall and Sir Ian McKellen display the effects bullying has on us throughout out lives:

“What we learn as children can last a lifetime. If you hear it, stop it. Don’t be a bystander.”

Will you be a bystander?
