This Is The Secret Recipe For A Healthy Living

This Is The Secret Recipe For A Healthy Living

When you want the highest quality of life, it requires action on your part and it starts with healthy living. Nowadays, people are always rushing and they say they have no time for incorporating new life hacks or tips on their routines. The reality is, all of those day-to-day stresses affect your body, mind, and health.

The first step in the secret recipe for healthy living is to start making small but big changes to your life. Here are some useful simple steps that will definitely make you feel better in many ways and bring you a step closer to that healthy lifestyle you wish to lead:

Set Goals

You can only reach your dreams when you prioritize your goals. A goal-oriented life is the road to success and happiness. When you start with goals that are important to you, you will be more focused on reaching them, as well as optimizing your time and resources.

Remember that success is the progressive accomplishment of worthy goals. If you are always working hard on meeting all your objectives, you will begin to have more self-discipline and start seeing your life changing!

Test Your Nutrition Levels

We all know that having proper nutrition is essential for good health. If you lack adequate nutrition, it can be harmful to your mind, as well as your body. It is important that you know whether or not your daily diet is nutritious and that it is helping you more than hindering. You must be conscious of your weight and keep abreast about any nutrient deficiencies.

Test your nutrition levels to see if your body has the adequate amounts of vitamins and minerals to ensure every part of your body is functioning properly.

Choose The Best Vitamins

Even the most balanced diets cannot singlehandedly provide every nutrient your body needs on an everyday basis. While healthy living includes daily vitamin supplements, all vitamins are not created equally. You must make the right choices when you want the best results and that’s why you should be sure to research credible review sites and be informed before buying.

Watch What You Eat

You probably know that junk food, fast food, and processed foods can be tempting, especially if you are too busy to cook or feel hungry in between meals. However, avoiding these products will help you stay healthy. You can have delicious foods that are simple to prepare without sacrificing your health (or even your budget).

Having a well-balanced diet is the best choice you can make in order to stay fit and healthy, and there are actually multiple benefits from it. An example of healthy eating can include the right quantities of food groups, like grains or cereal, fruits, vegetables, proteins, and also fat and sugar, which aren’t all unhealthy or bad, we just need to consume them properly. You can also consider including some vitamins and supplements to have a more complete and well-balanced nutrition plan.

Stay Focused At Work

When you learn to stay focused, you will accomplish more in a shorter period of time. You will be more productive and you will have the best results with each task you attempt. The ability to stay focused will also increase your motivation, prevent unnecessary fatigue, and you will find that you enjoy your job much more.

Drink More Water

There are many benefits to nature’s perfect beverage. Water will keep you refreshed throughout the day and prevent the problems that can accompany dehydration. Fresh water can eliminate hunger pangs and make you less likely to snack unhealthily between meals. Water flushes harmful toxins from your body so your body will be healthier overall.

Perform A Good Deed

Whenever you do something nice for someone, you feel good about yourself. You know you have made another person’s life easier or better and that provides a happiness that is mutually felt. When you share with others, the joy you bring to them will return to you. It can increase your self-esteem and confidence because you see your impact on the world in real-time.

Laugh Often

When you can laugh easily, minor problems do not seem to get you down (not for long anyway). You can find something humorous in nearly every situation. When you are lighthearted and joyful, you will have an optimistic approach to life. As laughter is contagious, your home and workplace will be a better place for everyone in your life just from the joy that you are radiating.

Get Better Sleep

Regardless of your age, gender, or personal situation, sleep is an essential part of healthy living. One reason why sleep is so beneficial is the way sleep affects your hormones. If you do not get enough sleep, you can experience a number of problems due to hormone imbalances. The inability to lose unwanted weight is one of the most common problems.

A second reason is your body’s overall health. Your body needs sleep in order for every system in your body to function effectively. A third reason is that your mind needs rest too. If you do not get enough sleep, lack of energy can ruin your day. You will feel tired, lethargic, and unmotivated. Sleep deprivation can cause grumpiness and anxiety. You will be less able to deal with stress and minor problems.

If you have the habit of staying up late to socialize, study, or work, give up this habit for the sake of healthy living. You will notice the difference when you make a full night’s sleep a priority. When you develop the habit of enjoying eight hours of restful sleep every night, it will not take long to appreciate the benefits.

As you can see, healthy living does not require a magic pill or miracles. All it takes is making some changes in your everyday life. Just start with these simple tips, you can be healthier. You can live each day to the fullest and you can enjoy your life a little more. When your health improves, your quality of life improves.

How to Get out of a Rut: 12 Useful Ways to Get Unstuck

How to Get out of a Rut: 12 Useful Ways to Get Unstuck

Have you gotten into a rut before? Or are you in a rut right now?

You know you’re in a rut when you run out of ideas and inspiration. I personally see a rut as a productivity vacuum. It might very well be a reason why you aren’t getting results. Even as you spend more time on your work, you can’t seem to get anything constructive done. While I’m normally productive, I get into occasional ruts (especially when I’ve been working back-to-back without rest). During those times, I can spend an entire day in front of the computer and get nothing done. It can be quite frustrating.

Over time, I have tried and found several methods that are helpful to pull me out of a rut. If you experience ruts too, whether as a working professional, a writer, a blogger, a student or other work, you will find these useful. Here are 12 of my personal tips to get out of ruts:

1. Work on the small tasks.

When you are in a rut, tackle it by starting small. Clear away your smaller tasks which have been piling up. Reply to your emails, organize your documents, declutter your work space, and reply to private messages.

Whenever I finish doing that, I generate a positive momentum which I bring forward to my work.

2. Take a break from your work desk.

Get yourself away from your desk and go take a walk. Go to the washroom, walk around the office, go out and get a snack.

Your mind is too bogged down and needs some airing. Sometimes I get new ideas right after I walk away from my computer.

3. Upgrade yourself

Take the down time to upgrade yourself. Go to a seminar. Read up on new materials (#7). Pick up a new language. Or any of the 42 ways here to improve yourself.

The modern computer uses different typefaces because Steve Jobs dropped in on a calligraphy class back in college. How’s that for inspiration?

4. Talk to a friend.

Talk to someone and get your mind off work for a while.

Talk about anything, from casual chatting to a deep conversation about something you really care about. You will be surprised at how the short encounter can be rejuvenating in its own way.

5. Forget about trying to be perfect.

If you are in a rut, the last thing you want to do is step on your own toes with perfectionist tendencies.

Just start small. Do what you can, at your own pace. Let yourself make mistakes.

Soon, a little trickle of inspiration will come. And then it’ll build up with more trickles. Before you know it, you have a whole stream of ideas.

6. Paint a vision to work towards.

If you are continuously getting in a rut with your work, maybe there’s no vision inspiring you to move forward.

Think about why you are doing this, and what you are doing it for. What is the end vision in mind?

Make it as vivid as possible. Make sure it’s a vision that inspires you and use that to trigger you to action.

7. Read a book (or blog).

The things we read are like food to our brain. If you are out of ideas, it’s time to feed your brain with great materials.

Here’s a list of 40 books you can start off with. Stock your browser with only the feeds of high quality blogs, such as Lifehack.org, DumbLittleMan, Seth Godin’s Blog, Tim Ferris’ Blog, Zen Habits or The Personal Excellence Blog.

Check out the best selling books; those are generally packed with great wisdom.

8. Have a quick nap.

If you are at home, take a quick nap for about 20-30 minutes. This clears up your mind and gives you a quick boost. Nothing quite like starting off on a fresh start after catching up on sleep.

9. Remember why you are doing this.

Sometimes we lose sight of why we do what we do, and after a while we become jaded. A quick refresher on why you even started on this project will help.

What were you thinking when you thought of doing this? Retrace your thoughts back to that moment. Recall why you are doing this. Then reconnect with your muse.

10. Find some competition.

Nothing quite like healthy competition to spur us forward. If you are out of ideas, then check up on what people are doing in your space.

Colleagues at work, competitors in the industry, competitors’ products and websites, networking conventions.. you get the drill.

11. Go exercise.

Since you are not making headway at work, might as well spend the time shaping yourself up.

Sometimes we work so much that we neglect our health and fitness. Go jog, swim, cycle, whichever exercise you prefer.

As you improve your physical health, your mental health will improve, too. The different facets of ourselves are all interlinked.

12. Take a good break.

Ruts are usually signs that you have been working too long and too hard. It’s time to get a break.

Beyond the quick tips above, arrange for a 1-day or 2-days of break from your work. Don’t check your (work) emails or do anything work-related. Relax and do your favorite activities. You will return to your work recharged and ready to start.

Contrary to popular belief, the world will not end from taking a break from your work. In fact, you will be much more ready to make an impact after proper rest. My best ideas and inspiration always hit me whenever I’m away from my work.
