4 Tips To Make Your Valentine’s Day Memorable

4 Tips To Make Your Valentine’s Day Memorable

Valentine’s Day![1] It comes only once a year and gives you the opportunity to express what you feel to your loved one in a special way. Everyone wants to be loved and be loved back in return: the feeling that someone cares about you and would be willing to go to any extent to prove their love to you is breathtaking.[2] Of course, this doesn’t mean you should be cold to your partner and only express love to them on Valentine’s Day. No! You should love each other consistently, but on Valentine’s Day, this is a day to celebrate that love and make the day special and memorable for the both of you.

The following are ways to make your valentine’s day memorable. #4 might actually surprise you:

1. Have a Plan

“Failure to plan is planning to fail.” Just as how you plan for your life, you should also put in similar efforts in planning for Valentine’s Day. In fact, if you don’t make plans early enough you might end up being locked out.[3] Since there are many love birds out there who share a similar goal, get ahead and make plans early—if possible together.[4]

So, what kind of plans should you make? Nothing can be more breathtaking to your partner than taking them back to where it started. Yes! On Valentine’s Day, you can decide to visit the place where you bumped into each other, that fateful restaurant where you two first met. So, go back to where it first began.

Make plans on the places you wish to visit: if your spouse loves massages, book a massage session. While making these plans, it is important to take into consideration the things that your partner likes. If he/she likes to go to a park, then make his/her day special by making arrangements in advance to the park to visit.

2. Special Gifts

I have to agree, choosing a gift for someone special might be quite a hectic task. Will he/she like it? Isn’t the gift too obvious? There will be a lot of questions running through your mind as your try and figure out the gift to surprise your significant other with.

Whether you decide to choose jewelry, clothes… you need to make it special. For instance, if you decide to surprise your partner with jewelry, you can make it special by customizing a message on the jewelry. What could be better than surprising your partner with an engagement ring on Valentine’s Day with a custom message “I will be yours forever.” The gifts you buy your partner on Valentine’s Days should be special and different from the ones you buy him/her on a day-to-day basis.

You don’t want to buy her the usual love card with an obvious message, do you? On the contrary, you can actually customize a romantic card and write in it a romantic message that is deep from your heart. This will make your significant other feel that your love for him/her is genuine.

Again, don’t just buy some chocolate. How about you order a chocolate in the shape of the love symbol with a breathtaking message written on it? The goal is to make Valentine’s Day special and different from what you two do on the other days.

3. Give Yourself

Everyone can buy expensive gifts with custom messages; your partner will appreciate your presence more. Try to connect with each other,[5] smile, laugh and cuddle. Let your actions communicate louder.

Try and get physical. I got your attention, right? The kind of physical I am talking about is go for walks in a park, take a 10-minute jog or even a pillow fight. Engage in anything physical that will make the day memorable and bring joy to both of you.

4. Set The Mood

The last thing you would want is to have an argument on Valentine’s Day. This is not the day to review all the wrongs you have done to each other; this is a special day for you and your partner to celebrate the love you feel for each other. The setting of the place needs to be romantic. You can have candles, flowers and a playlist of the songs you and your significant other likes.

You can also try watching the sunset together or even lying on the grass and count the stars as you cuddle. Try as much as possible to set a joyful and cheerful mood, let the tears shed on valentine’s day be the tears of joy and not of sorrow.

Conclusion

Since Valentine’s Day is a special day to celebrate love, it is important to ensure that the activities of the day make both you and your significant other happy. The goal is to make the day memorable!

5 Reasons Why You Should Always Be Who You Are

5 Reasons Why You Should Always Be Who You Are

When it comes to being yourself, there can be a lot of pressure from the outside world as it tries to influence who you are. Living in a society that is constantly developing, it’s important for you to always be yourself from the inside out.

When you deeply know yourself and the boundaries that you have set, you are more likely to experience a fulfilling and rewarding life. Without knowing yourself and establishing those boundaries, you can easily be pushed around and end up on a dirt path.

So how to be who you are and always be yourself?

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” – Matthew 7:13-14

You have the option of taking the path that is broad or taking the path that is narrow. You can either conform to what life wants you to be, or have the courage to remain true to yourself throughout the years. It’s definitely a challenge to have a strong sense of self when we are constantly getting distracted and being influenced by the media and society’s way of life. But if you want to reach your fullest potential in life, it all starts with being yourself.

Why should you always be yourself? Because you will:

1. Live in Alignment With Your Values and Beliefs

Being yourself is all about knowing what you believe in and the values that you live by. When you are not yourself, you will take on the values and beliefs of others. This is when you start conforming to other people’s expectations and way of thinking.

When you know your values and why you do what you do, you will live according to your own values and beliefs.

2. Establish Your Own Identity

When you are able to have a solid foundation of being you, you are establishing your own sense of identity. No matter what happens in your life, you will always know who you are.

There will be times where you may feel lost or distracted, but if you have your own identity you’ll be able to get back on the right path. Without establishing your own identity, you may easily conform and lose yourself.

3. Build Courage

It takes a great amount of courage when you decide to take the path that goes against the crowd. The reason why the majority of people take the broad path is because it’s easy.

It’s easy to just follow the crowd. It’s more of a challenge when you stay true to yourself and establish your own identity. This challenge of always being yourself takes courage and inner strength. No matter what comes your way, you’ll know how to handle it.

4. Establish Boundaries

When you are always yourself, you know what your limits are and the boundaries that you have set for yourself. When people cross your boundaries, you will know.

But if you don’t establish boundaries, people may very well walk all over you and take advantage of you. If you are always yourself and you establish boundaries, you are more likely to be aware when people start taking advantage of you.

Create and establish your boundaries.

5. Find Focus and Direction

When you are always yourself, you are more likely to have focus and direction in your life. Imagine someone who is constantly conforming to other people’s expectations, do you think this person has focus and direction? I don’t think so.

When you stay true to who you are, you are more likely to know the goals you want to accomplish and how to go about accomplishing them. You are able to stay focused and know which direction to take in order for you to accomplish your goals.

No matter what you experience in life, the only person that will always remain constant is you.
