6 Tips to Dress Well

6 Tips to Dress Well

Men love to dress well, have a modern look and appear smart.  For a man, to look smart is simple. You only need to know how to put on the right outfit. Sometimes it is not just wearing good clothes, but knowing what exactly fits your body. The better you feel about the clothes you wear, the more self-confidence you will have. And with more self-confidence, you will have more opportunities in your personal and professional life. This article will give you some tips on men’s fashions.

1. Know your tastes

Every man has a preference for the types of clothing he desires, irrespective of the price tag. Dressing smart requires you to know what to wear to look outstanding.  As the saying goes, “A good recipe makes the meal taste great.” Take the time to know your own tastes when it comes to fashion.

2. Consider the color

Choosing or combining colors for the best possible effect is the secret of elegance. The choice of color speaks a lot about your personality. It would be inappropriate for the President of the United States of America to put on a yellow suit for an official assignment. Such an outfit would make him look more like a rock star than a president, and this would not depict maturity in him. Colors portray different meanings. A man should be mindful of the colors of clothing when choosing what to purchase. If you choose to mix colors and even shades of one color, try to put the darker shades in the garments worn from the waist down and the lighter ones at the top. This will cause the eye to perceive an elongation effect when viewing your figure from head to toe, making you look taller.

3. The clothes should fit

Oversized clothes or tight clothes make a man look weird and do not appear smart or fashionable. Choosing the appropriate sizes of clothing and making sure you find the right fit will improve your appearance. Accompany well-fitting clothes with the right accessories, such as cufflinks, a tie, and a wristwatch.

4. Flow with the fashion trends

There are two calibers of people when it comes to fashion: the fashion-minded and the not so fashion-minded. As a result of this, people see fashion as a way of life. Simply follow the current fashions and styles. Because fashion itself changes, one’s pattern of clothing should periodically change as well.

5.  Find good-looking shoes

A shoe is an item of footwear intended to protect and comfort the human foot while allowing the wearer to engage in various activities. It is important that you wear comfortable and good-looking shoes, because the key to your entire outfit relies on the shoe you put on. Of course, you will need some good dress shoes to complement more formal dress.

Health is of great importance and prominence for all of us. We do a lot of things to be healthy: we spend money on gym workouts, extraordinary miracle cures, and vitamins that appear all over the media. However, it is not often that we think of our feet and how they may affect our health. Good shoes allow you to participate in exercise and sporting activities without injuries. Wearing uncomfortable shoes can also have a negative effect on your personal well-being, body and health.

6. Knowing what to wear for a particular event

A major problem some men have is that they wear clothes that don’t fit the occasion or event. This is like wearing jeans and a jacket for a formal job interview, which will probably not land you the job. You need to know what to wear for a particular event or occasion: an outfit that brings out the smart aura, fashion sense, and uniqueness in you.

No doubt, with these few tips, you will be able to dress well and avoid the fashion errors often associated with men.

How to Flow Your Way to a More Productive Life

How to Flow Your Way to a More Productive Life

Ebb and flow. Contraction and expansion. Highs and lows. It’s all about the cycles of life.

The entire course of our life follows this up and down pattern of more and then less. Our days flow this way, each following a pattern of more energy, then less energy, more creativity and periods of greater focus bookended by moments of low energy when we cringe at the thought of one more meeting, one more call, one more sentence.

The key is in understanding how to use the cycles of ebb and flow to our advantage. The ability to harness these fluctuations, understand how they affect our productivity and mood and then apply that knowledge as a tool to improve our lives is a valuable strategy that few individuals or corporations have mastered.

Here are a few simple steps to start using this strategy today:

Review Your Past Flow

Take just a few minutes to look back at how your days and weeks have been unfolding. What time of the day are you the most focused? Do you prefer to be more social at certain times of the day? Do you have difficulty concentrating after lunch or are you energized? Are there days when you can’t seem to sit still at your desk and others when you could work on the same project for hours?

Do you see a pattern starting to emerge? Eventually you will discover a sort of map or schedule that charts your individual productivity levels during a given day or week.  That’s the first step. You’ll use this information to plan your days going forward.

Schedule According to Your Flow Pattern

Look at the types of things you do each day…each week. What can you move around so that it’s a better fit for you? Can you suggest to your team that you schedule meetings for late morning if you can’t stand to be social first thing? Can you schedule detailed project work or highly creative tasks, like writing or designing when you are best able to focus? How about making sales calls or client meetings on days when you are the most social and leaving billing or reports until another time when you are able to close your door and do repetitive tasks.

Keep in mind that everyone is different and some things are out of our control. Do what you can. You might be surprised at just how flexible clients and managers can be when they understand that improving your productivity will result in better outcomes for them.

Account for Big Picture Fluctuations

Look at the bigger picture. Consider what happens during different months or times during the year. Think about what is going on in the other parts of your life. When is the best time for you to take on a new project, role or responsibility? Take into account other commitments that zap your energy. Do you have a sick parent, a spouse who travels all the time or young children who demand all of your available time and energy?

We all know people who ignore all of this advice and yet seem to prosper and achieve wonderful success anyway, but they are usually the exception, not the rule. For most of us, this habitual tendency to force our bodies and our brains into patterns of working that undermine our productivity result in achieving less than desired results and adding more stress to our already overburdened lives.

Why not follow the ebb and flow of your life instead of fighting against it?
