Let’s face it: when it comes to feeding our pets, it’s no different than feeding ourselves, and it’s always a lot more fun choosing the treats over the healthy stuff.

Pets & Food

However, we all know the dangers of having too much of a good thing. Our pets are no different, and are in fact more likely to be seriously harmed after being fed something we might assume to be okay.

For example, chocolate is one of our greatest treats. However, it is very bad for dogs. While we can easily digest theobromine, the toxic component of the sweet treat, dogs seriously struggle.[1] Generally, this can lead to a concerning amount of vomiting, which you probably don’t want on your new cream carpet.

But it’s not just dogs who struggle to consume certain everyday foods; lots of others do too, and horses are another great example.

What Horses Can’t Eat

While their diet mainly consists of hay, they do love being treated to some delicious fruits and vegetables.

However, despite the range of things they can enjoy, there are also plenty they cannot, something horse owners should beware of.

This infographic is great for horse owners regardless of experience because it charts everything from certain fruits and vegetables to things like meat, bread, and chocolate.
