To lose a parent at an early age is a heart-breaking experience. When Brenden Bickerstaff-Clark learned that the mother of his son had died from a heroin overdose, he was faced with the task of delivering the worst news imaginable to the young boy.
A recovering addict himself, he was forced to sit down with his son and explain that his mother had passed away after taking a lethal amount of heroin.
Drug abuse doesn’t just affect the user
In the video, Bickerstaff-Clark is positioned across the table from his son. Holding onto the child’s hand, he briefly tells him the circumstances of his mother’s death. Both father and son are visibly traumatized, with the latter crying in the arms of the woman seated next to him.
