8 Advantages of Using Steel Sheets for Your Home Project

8 Advantages of Using Steel Sheets for Your Home Project

If you’re looking to change your roof, then metal roofing is the best option so far. If you have a home with steep or flat roof line, then metal roofing provides durability, which is unbeatable.

When it comes to choosing between various types of roofings, you must know what’re you paying for. Here, in this article, I’ve compiled a list of benefits that the steel sheets offer to the homeowners.

1. Variety Of Options

The first benefit of metal roofs is that it allows a variety of options to choose from. Zinc, Galvanized Steel, Tin, Aluminium and Copper are the basic types in which the home roofings are available. It helps you to select the perfect roof type on the basis of style, durability and price options that you have.

2. Durability & Longevity

The most important factor while searching for the roofing option is the durability and the longevity. As a homeowner, you look for something durable that stands the test of time. No worries! Metal roofing can easily last more than 40 years, but it entirely depends upon the material like the conventional asphalt roofing that lasts around 15 to 20 years. This metal roofing is the best choice among homeowners. Moreover, choosing this metal roofing option can also help you save money on upkeep and maintenance cost.

3. Expected Life

Another benefit of having a metal roofing is that it lasts a long time, survives high winds, seals out water and also helps in shedding snow. Moreover, metal also resists mildew, fire, rot and insects. You can see a variation among companies in offering roofing warranties, but it lies between 20 to 40 years. On top of that, you will get a 30-year warranty on paint finishes.

4. Weight

When it comes to the metal roofing, it is lightweight as compared to the tile which weighs around 780 pounds/square or a concrete tile weighing 950 pounds/square. Some of the tiles weigh around 60-170 pounds/square as well.

If you want to apply a metal roofing to an existing structure without tearing it off or extra structural support; you can do that. As a matter of fact, you can also decrease the number of roof support members while making a new house or renovating it.

5. Speed & Ease of Roofing Installation.

The metal roofing is quite easy-to-install as it is available in multiple-shingle sections or 12’ to 36’ wide panels. If you’re worried about the approaching storm and your roof is stripped off, then you can buy metal roofing online to complete the entire roof work in a day or two. As it’s lightweight, so you don’t need to pay an engineer and construct the supporting structure cost.

6. Fire Resistance

The metal roofing is given an A-Class fire rating as they are made of most resistant, non-combustible material. Some types of roofing contain the material, which can ignite in intense heat.

7. Heat Conduction

Metal roofing also helps to reflect the heat coming from the sun in daytime and it doesn’t increase the home temperature. It will eventually help you save energy consumption of air conditioners all through the day. Although the material of metal roofs is low-insulation R-value, with unique systems, you can use a dead-space between the roof deck and metal to boost energy efficiency.

8. Minimal Roof Pitch

You can also install a metal roof on a gently pitched roof to prevent the leakage. The minimum roof pitch is 3 in 12, meaning you have to raise the ceiling at least 3 inches for each horizontal foot.

So, these are some of the advantages of using steel sheets for your home. You just have a look at the varieties of steel sheets and choose as per which really fits your requirements.

How to Tap Into the Power of Positivity

How to Tap Into the Power of Positivity

As it appears, the human mind is not capable of not thinking, at least on the subconscious level. Our mind is always occupied by thoughts, whether we want to or not, and they influence our every action.

“Happiness cannot come from without, it comes from within.” – Helen Keller

When we are still children, our thoughts seem to be purely positive. Have you ever been around a 4-year old who doesn’t like a painting he or she drew? I haven’t. Instead, I see glee, exciting and pride in children’s eyes. But as the years go by, we clutter our mind with doubts, fears and self-deprecating thoughts.

Just imagine then how much we limit ourselves in every aspect of our lives if we give negative thoughts too much power! We’ll never go after that job we’ve always wanted because our nay-saying thoughts make us doubt our abilities. We’ll never ask that person we like out on a date because we always think we’re not good enough.

We’ll never risk quitting our job in order to pursue the life and the work of our dreams because we can’t get over our mental barrier that insists we’re too weak, too unimportant and too dumb. We’ll never lose those pounds that risk our health because we believe we’re not capable of pushing our limits. We’ll never be able to fully see our inner potential because we simply don’t dare to question the voices in our head.

But enough is enough! It’s time to stop these limiting beliefs and come to a place of sanity, love and excitement about life, work and ourselves.

So…how exactly are we to achieve that?

It’s not as hard as it may seem; you just have to practice, practice, practice. Here are a few ideas on how you can get started.

1. Learn to substitute every negative thought with a positive one.

Every time a negative thought crawls into your mind, replace it with a positive thought. It’s just like someone writes a phrase you don’t like on a blackboard and then you get up, erase it and write something much more to your liking.

2. See the positive side of every situation, even when you are surrounded by pure negativity.

This one is a bit harder to put into practice, which does not mean it’s impossible.

You can find positivity in everything by mentally holding on to something positive, whether this be family, friends, your faith, nature, someone’s sparkling eyes or whatever other glimmer of beauty. If you seek it, you will find it.

3. At least once a day, take a moment and think of 5 things you are grateful for.

This will lighten your mood and give you some perspective of what is really important in life and how many blessings surround you already.

4. Change the mental images you allow to enter your mind.

How you see yourself and your surroundings make a huge difference to your thinking. It is like watching a DVD that saddens and frustrates you, completely pulling you down. Eject that old DVD, throw it away and insert a new, better, more hopeful one instead.

So, instead of dwelling on dark, negative thoughts, consciously build and focus on positive, light and colorful images, thoughts and situations in your mind a few times a day.

If you are persistent and keep on working on yourself, your mind will automatically reject its negative thoughts and welcome the positive ones.

And remember: You are (or will become) what you think you are. This is reason enough to be proactive about whatever is going on in your head.
