You might not think so at first, but your shoes say a lot about you.
Without even glancing at the rest of you, a person can narrow down the type of person you are based solely (Get it? Sorry…) on what’s on your feet. They can tell if you’re in business mode, feeling sporty, or just trying to be comfortable.
But some footwear is instantly recognizable above all others. The following infographic details some of the most iconic footwear in pop culture history. One mention of any of these shoes instantly brings to mind a picture of the person or character wearing them, the purpose for wearing them, and the time period in which they were worn.
When you picture famous dancer Fred Astaire, what do you picture him wearing on his feet? How about soccer pro David Beckham?
From Dorothy in her ruby red slippers to Elvis in his blue suede shoes, these famous footwear are more than simply an article of clothing – they’re a symbol of something much, much larger.
