Day 6: Ginger Tea
Ginger tea has been used in India for a long time and it has gradually crept into Western society due to its cleansing qualities. It helps with digestion and boosts our immune systems, both of which have a knock on effect on our skin. However, ginger tea is not the tastiest tea out there so you will probably need to add some other flavors to it, such as lemon and/or honey. We normally don’t encourage adding sweet products to anything, but organic honey is fine in moderation.
How to drink it?
Making a cup of ginger tea is a bit trickier than conventional herbal teas. You need to first prepare the ginger by peeling, then chopping it up into 10 small pieces, more if it’s a big bit of ginger. Once you have the ginger in smaller portions, add them to a saucepan along with 2 cups of water. Bring the water to the boil, then allow the mixture to simmer for 15 minutes and add your honey or lemon, or anything else to mask the bitter flavor. Once ready, add to a cup and drink.
