I just grabbed this one, definitely works as advertised. I will say once the picture has been taken, it does take a bit to ’save’ it compared to what most people would think. This app is for those who want to take a quite still picture.

I downloaded it, snapped my first photo, and then had to lookup online how to reset a frozen iPhone 3G (which by the way is by holding both the menu and sleep buttons at the same time for 10 seconds). Thanks Stepcase Lifehack!

Just noticed that SteadyCam is not available in the App Store anymore. Searches return nothing, and when trying to install using the direct link it ways that “the item you tried to buy is no longer available”. Maybe they are just changing it to the “paid model” (as planned), or it is YET ANOTHER APPLICATION that just got removed by Apple.

@Seneschal, @Eric: Glad you found this tool useful.
@Tim, @SG: Did it hang straight after the “steady status bar” is full, or did you see the “Saving…” screen before it hangs?
@Felipe: It was not a planned exercise. It maybe a glitch, but it’s back in the store now. Get it while it is free and available.

Great job !
Simple app and lot of usability and fun.
Just add please preview screen with “retake” and “save” buttons and it will be perfect

Photos are saved in limbo I think. They certainly don’t go to my Camera Roll. Deleting it now.

Works great for me! No problems. Maybe add a 5 shot burst or video
Arturo says on December 12th, 2008 at 8:29 am
Great I can’t wait 2.0 :)
I noticed interesting thing. If I press “home” during saving of photo. I can see preview of photo in “Camera Roll” screen as last thumbnail but it isn’t inside (Photos).
