Learn To Type Online

I generally accredit my ability to type on a computer to those days on ICQ during highschool.

A better, more structured, approach would be something like this online typing tutor. TypeOnline.co.uk is a simple site that offers a series of lessons for keyboard accuracy, speed and other related exercises.

Even if you just want to check your Words Per Minute, this is a simple and accessible place to get those fingers waggling.

I tend to like typefaster better. True, it is a local version but it has on screen visuals so you can see which finger to use to type which character.

My typing speed improved dramatically through the playing of MUDs. When your character’s survival depends on whether or not you can type commands quickly during the stress of combat, you learn quickly!

    get potion from pack
    drink potion
    cast magic missile
    run!!!!!!

I wanted to check my WPM, but that thing annoyed me. I’m reading ahead, so I’m constantly typing the wrong words because I’m already reading the next word.. Or something.. I would like a setting to keep the words in their place.

A much better website is typingweb.com. It is completely free and is a full typing tutor.
