Reviews of restaurants and other establishments have been growing with programs like Yelp, Urban Spoon and others, but the honesty of these reviews are often questionable. The vast majority of people provide 4-5 star reviews and without full anonymity, it’s difficult to be truly honest. The Good vs. Bad smart phone application uses a proprietary algorithm for their customer index in order to provide the most relevant and honest information about certain locales.

Getting relevant feedback through this app will depend highly on your location, but if you find yourself surrounded by many users, the honest reviews might be extremely helpful in your mealtime decision-making process. That's a good resource, and I for one would be quite a bit more honest if I was anonymous. Another great tool is http://www.approves.it – not just for restaurants but for things you love/hate too (or approve/disapprove).

Anonymity does tend to provide more honest feedback but some businesses use this to their advantage to spam their review sites with positive reviews to up their score.
