Free “Lorem Ipsum” Generator
Lipsum.org is a perfect tool if you spend a lot of time designing documents or Web sites. Lipsum.org creates the infamous “Lorem ipsum dolor sit ame” text in a layout that you can dump directly into your document. Lipsum.org lets you customize how many paragraphs, words, bytes, or lists should be created so that you can get a realistic feel for how your document will look when it is complete. This is more efficient and more useful than just typing in a bunch of unformatted junk with your keyboard. If you’re unfamiliar with what I’m talking about see the example below:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Etiam ultricies ligula. Suspendisse luctus, neque ac tincidunt tempus, mauris lacus condimentum tellus, id mollis odio pede sit amet ipsum. Ok…..what is it used for again? Translation, perhaps? Or to spew out drivel in an organized manner?

It is used by people designing websites, or magazines etc. to use as filler text before you have “real copy”. Lorem ipsum is nice because it approximates what English looks like in word length, variation, and sentence length. You can get an idea as to how a block of text will look in your design. I use this site all the time.

I used to go to the site whenever I needed lipsum. Now, I have it directly beside me in Firefox with the Lorem Ipsum Generator addon:
