Lifehack.org Giveaway, Week Two: Another Chance to Win a db clay Wallet

Time’s running out to enter last week’s drawing, which closes tonight at midnight, but we’re doing this every week, so if you missed last week’s drawing, or you aren’t the winner, you can enter this week’s for another chance to win a db clay wallet! You can a new drawing every week this month (but you can only win once).
db clay wallets are literally works of art you keep in your pocket — almost too beautiful to stuff with money, ID cards, and the other flotsam and jetsam of your pocketable life!
db clay wallets are made of db clay’s excusive “Tope”, a durable, heat- and cold-resistant, waterproof, nontoxic, PVC-free synthetic fabric, and are printed with environmentally-friendly inks. And did I mention that they’re beautiful?
We’re giving away a db clay wallet every week this month. All you have to do to enter his week’s drawing is leave a comment on this post with your name and email address in the appropriate fields. That’s it, although we’ll be more than happy if you decide to leave a tip for our readers, a pointer to a great website, or something else useful, unique, or otherwise wonderful. The winner will be notified by email at the end of the following week.
Of course, this being the web and all, we do have to keep up our usual spam filtering, and entries deemed “spam” by our filters will be approved only at the will of our administrators. We’ll do our best to make sure all legitimate entries are counted. Each Wednesday at midnight (Pacific Standard Time), we’ll close comments and choose one at random as the winner. Winners will be announced later in the week. db clay has agreed to ship the prizes directly, and their staff will choose the model awarded. While I know only your name and e-mail are required, I was wondering that, since the possibilities are endless with a suggestion, rec, or site, maybe a recommended theme would be cool. Not required, but recommended. Like, “weight loss,” or “learning something new.”
There are many great flashcard learning programs for the iPod Touch and iPhone. Some even sync with your computer. If you are trying to learn something new, why not give those a try?

Here’s my money-saving tip for the day:
At this time of year, only date girls with names like Natalie, Holly, Eve and Carol. It’s likely that her Birthday is close to Christmas, so you won’t have to buy her any Birthday gifts until then, by which time she will probably have left you, cheapskate!

It’s 2008, and maybe some of you are shy to make a public announcement of your resolutions. But what I’ve learned that aside from being a good motivator to actually achieve your resolutions, you also get not just moral support but real tangible help from people who want to support your resolve!
BTW, my first resolution for 2008 is to buy a sax and learn to play it!
Things I learned in 2007 regarding wallets and things that go in them (money):
1) Keep your Social Security Card, Car Registration, (Dental Coverage, reward cards, library cards, club memberships)and any other non-essential, hard to replace items NOT in your wallet in the case it gets lost.
2) Payroll Direct Deposits can also operate as Payroll debits in the event that your payroll bounces (bankruptcy).
3) Do not carry loose change in your wallet, the change purse button breaks easily. Instead use an empty water jug at home to get in the habit of tossing in lose change for a savings. Some banks (Commerce Bank) offer free change conversion to cash and even give you a $10 bonus if you can guess within dollars of how much you have. We save until its full and plan a disney vacation.
4) Convert all the business card info (personal banker, trainer, restaurant, and lose notes jotted down) into text messages or notes on your cell phone and toss them.
5) Make a note of your wallet contents and put it in a safe place (file folder) so that if it goes missing you dont forget to cancel or replace anything. I went as far to make scans of everything and save on a password protected usb drive i keep in a safe.

Oh, those are lovely. And I need a good wallet. I still leave my driver’s license in my car and stuff money in my pocket on the way out the door if I think I might need it.
It amazes many of my friends that a “girl like me” prefers to simply carry a wallet, rather than a purse. It all goes back to “what do you really need?” For me, I need ID, keys (those go on a lanyard), my debit card, and…pretty much nothing else. Photos go on my phone, which also replaces my calendar and phone book. Of course, with the various “credit card” lipglosses and tool kits, I’m able to carry a LOT more than most of my friends even realize…and I do it all without having to be weighed down!
Love what you do, and work hard at it – the rewards will follow.
