So, 2008 is going to be your year, right? Fame, success, self-fulfillment, money — this is the year it all comes true. And what will you keep all your money in this year, when it comes rolling in like rain?

How about a new db clay wallet? db clay wallets are literally works of art you keep in your pocket — that they just happen to also hold your money, ID cards, and other stuff is an added bonus! And here’s the best part: every week of this month, db clay is giving one of these beautiful wallets away, absolutely free, to a lucky lifehack.org reader!

db clay wallets are made of db clay’s excusive “Tope”, a durable, heat- and cold-resistant, waterproof, nontoxic, PVC-free synthetic fabric, and are printed with environmentally-friendly inks. And did I mention that they’re beautiful?
Every Tuesday this month (January 2008) we’ll post a giveaway post (you’re reading this week’s). To win, all you have to do is leave a comment with your name and email address in the appropriate fields. That’s it, although we’ll be more than happy if you decide to leave a tip for our readers, a pointer to a great website, or something else useful, unique, or otherwise wonderful.

Of course, this being the web and all, we do have to keep up our usual spam filtering, and entries deemed “spam” by our filters will be approved only at the will of our administrators. We’ll do our best to make sure all legitimate entries are counted.
Each Wednesday at midnight (Pacific Standard Time), we’ll close comments and choose one at random as the winner. Winners will be announced later in the week. db clay has agreed to ship the prizes directly, and their staff will choose the model awarded.
To learn more about db clay, check out their website at dbclay.com, and read their blog, evil backwards.
So go ahead and comment on this post to be entered in this week’s drawing. Good luck!

Great wallets!
In Japan, they have a condition called “karoshi”. Karoshi means “death due to overwork” and it is common enough that they actually have an organization for it, the National Defense Counsel for Victims of Karoshi. The group claims nearly 10,000 Japanese die from overwork each year. For more info read http://www.research.vt.edu/resmag/sciencecol/AFDC95.html
Those look really suave, I’d love to whip one of them out and have people stare at it… now all i need is money.
This has nothing to do with a lifehack but I haven’t found something similar: http://videosoftheweb.blogspot.com
That’s why I’m slowly doing a collection of videos (mostly videos that aren’t famous but still are very good).
Probably my favorite “lifehack” is using wrinkle releaser spray to aid with clothes that “almost fit”.
We all have those clothes in our closet that “almost fit”, but aren’t quite big enough. Just a few sprays of wrinkle releaser act as fabric relaxants, and can allow the clothing to have just enough give that it will fit just fine.
Awesome wallets! They would look so good in my pocket ;)
Well darn, those wallets look extremely pretty. I love it when art gets combined with function.
Pretty cool wallets – I wonder how long it will be before Flickr notices and you’ll be able to create your own wallet from your photos?
Cool wallets!. I had some Jerry Garcia designed wallets with cool designs on them several years ago. I always received a complement on the wallet when I took it out. These look more ‘artsy’ but cool nonetheless.
I like cheese!
Great lifehacks, keep ‘em up.
Wow, I love these wallets :)
It’s good that it seems lifehack’s developing
Nice wallets! that’s one of my to-do items for 2008 – get a new wallet.

I guess when you don’t have much money it would help to carry it in something as snazzy as this. Of course, if I followed the site’s suggestions more closely I’d probably have more to put in it.
I came across a lifehack that was so obvious that I wondered how nobody else could have thought about it.
If you use instant messaging at work and you don’t want to be bothered by all those messages popping up do not switch your status to busy. Switch it to offline. Nobody knows that you actually are at your computer. And most IM programs don’t show offline buddies in the buddies list anyway. So you can work undisturbed while still being connected and seeing who else in online.
awesome! way to make a statement
Wow…those are some awesome wallets! I hope I win!
pretty hip…..
Those are some uber wallets, I’d love to have one, hehe :D
Lifehack.org, a definite RSS staple. Keep up the good work and a happy new year to everyone!
ooh, shiney!

prettay awesome wallets
Tip: (and maybe idea for an article here)
http://www.Tiddlywiki.com
I have spent the last two weeks super-hacking and adding plug-ins and the works.
Wow! A very nice eco friendly wallet. It fit very well for person like me who likes nature very much. It will look nicer if db clay involve itself in some eco friendly project in the society? If not, I would suggest they contribute a portion of their profit to some eco friendly project. :)
Wow, that’s way more wallet than I can afford.
For those that don’t win and want a cheap (errr, basically free) alternative, here’s a template to put images or text on a paper wallet you make yourself:
http://ipapercraft.com/credit-card-cash-wallet/
Beautiful wallets!
Still have the wallet I made from 20 $1 bills from here – > http://www.moneywallet.org/
My thoughts are these:
We’re all a decently intelligent bunch here, I’d reckon most of us have finished or are in college/university, or plan to attend one. And perhaps some of this crowd shares my problem, which is that I tend to use my brain wayyyy too much, and that I’d rather spend time learning and reading than actually doing. Considering how often lifehacker is updated, there’s a lot of excuses to not do, and just read and learn, which is really just being a self-help junkie.
http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2007/04/self-help-junkies/
I just want to say that I hope everyone achieves the goals and dreams they have for themselves and for others this year, and to wish everyone a happy new year!
My wife is converting me to the GTD lifestyle and it is starting to pay off. Speaking of “pay off” I could place a few shekels in one of those wallets!
Some pretty hot wallets!!!
I need a little art in my pocket! Happy New Year!!
Would love to win one of these – my wallet is just about the end of its life.
I really like the one with the field and sky on it – looks amazing!
Really nice wallets, certainly beat the heck out of my standard walmart wallet.
I’ve never seen these before…Those are cool looking wallets!
sweet wallets.
I wouldn’t mind having a new wallet. Hopefully one that is full of credit cards that I don’t have to pay. Life wouldn’t be the same.
I still use my home made duct tape “wallet”. So, I do think I need a proper wallet.
Purty! I am always on the search for a good wallet and have yet to find the right one. And, this is a good way to get me to subscribe to your site, which I read everyday anyway!
K
Killer wallets, hope I win!
Thanks for this chance to win, and thanks for Lifehack.
Well, I can’t possibly afford one of those wallets right now — not if I want to have a use for it!
Free, you say? Thank you very much, sir.
As my nephew would say…”Wicked, I wanna get me one of those!”
cool Wallets!
Those wallets are amazing. I’d be more worried about people stealing the wallet rather than the contents.
Thanks, lifehack!
those wallets look great
Ohhh.. I was just on there site looking to buy one.
Those sure are purty!
These look cool.
man u guys are awsome
Art in my pants!
GO HOGS!!!
Cool wallets. I’ve been using David Allen’s note taker wallet for over a year and love it. http://www.davidco.com/store/catalog/GTD-NoteTaker-Wallet-with-Accessories-p-16167.php
But one of these would really be nice.
Oooo, those are really beautiful. I only started reading this blog in mid-2007, but I gotta say, this is a killer prize!
People should not beat themselves up over holiday weight. It is not the cause of weight gain. You’ll regain your normal weight in no time, as long as you keep on doing what you used to do before the holidays, instead of beating yourself up, giving up and overeating, stressing and worrying, etc.
Too cool! I’ve got to get one.
i subscribe to a few blogs, this one included. while i often comment in my head to what i am reading, i have never taken the time to compose my thoughts in an intelligible format and added them to the mix.
now i am doing it for some shwag.
Eco friendly, AND beautiful! Huzzah — here’s hoping that one of these beauties finds its way to my pocket…
Great wallets! Happy new year!
Those wallets look great!
I’m eating oatmeal!
This is one of my favorite sites. Keep hacking!

Superb wallets!
These look hot! Me wants!
Great idea!
Cool wallets! Thanks for showcasing them.
Sorry I don’t have anything interesting to say at the moment.
nice!
Thanks for a great site!
Spiffy!
To keep your new (my new?) wallet slim, remember only to put in it what you absolutely need every day. I know you might’ve needed a dozen credit cards before (because you never know which one’s going to be maxxed out, right?); but now that you’ve got your act together – you really only need one or two (maybe 3 if you’ve got a gas card – put your store cards in a secure place and take them with you when you go shopping). Throw away your gum wrappers and put your receipts in your pocket, not your wallet. If you really are keeping track of them, why is that Shenanigan’s receipt still in there from last year? Buy a business card case for your business cards and limit the number of photos to your wife and kids, or your girl or boyfriend. A wallet like this is pretty awesome. Take care of it; and it should serve you (me?) well for years to come.
For all the help and life saving tips that you dole out us readers, I daresay we should be giving you gifts, as a token of our gratitude. But, I won’t say no to such beautiful things. Best wishes to the whole lifehack team for the new year.
Très chique!
Happy new year to all at lifehack!
Hope I win!
Nice wallet! I think one will look nice in my girlfriend’s purse.

BTW, I just think is Scalix (http://www.scalix.com/) is neat and not enough people know about it. I’m not entirely sure its tip-worthy, though.
Wow. This would be beautiful. Great way to replace my wallet, which has been through the wash like 6 times.
Cool!

Thanks guys!
Lovely wallets!
I have a duct tape wallet that I’m pretty proud of, but it doesn’t hold a candle to these beauties!
Artistic and unique! Just like me…
Give aways are a great idea, and this wallet is good place to start!
Very nice.
I have enjoyed Lifehack for a long time now; having a drawing is a great way to get me to come out of the woodwork.
awesome wallets!!! Need to get these in some bigger stores like kohls…
Neato.
These look amazing!! I could totally use one to start off my 2008 with a bang!
They look Fantaboulous! For all you lifehackers out there if you’re looking to save or spend wisely in the new year…give a look to wize.com…it’s pretty interesting in comparing products and services. Hope good Karma comes my way! Have a great New Year Readers and of course Writers!
I was amazed to discover how much less I spent when I did not carry my wallet with me everywhere. Because I can walk to work, I may go days without actually needing cash or credit card.
Awesome wallet.
Here’s a good site for lifehackers:
http://www.pandora.com/
My first time hearing about these wallets! Looks good.
Fantastico! A functional work of art, thanks for bringing these items to my attention, you’ve made my day by allowing me to view these wallets.
Those are gorgeous.
I think this year I’m going to try a smaller wallet…if I can’t carry so much cash in it maybe I won’t be tempted to spend it!

Very cool!
Hi,
I read the posts here regularily. I like your productivity tips the most.
Gotta say, ever since i stumbled across LifeHack, it’s been a site I visit nearly every day.
Fave Lifehack? Originally from studentlinc.typepad.com, the Weekly Planner Organiser…I use it all the time to plan, and manage my week.
Amazing Wallets, Amazing site, what a great way to bring in the new year!
I love these things… I saw them in a local store while doing some gift shopping and thought they were absolutely amazing.
have a buddy that has one of these. very nice wallets. dont burn easy too.
very cool
Different looking, that’s for sure.
But why haven’t I ever heard of these wallets before? All the press clippings on their web site indicate these things are big news.
They are nice looking, but I probably wouldn’t normally be in the market for one.
Lovely wallets, but way out of my price range! Nice of them to do a giveaway.
(I’m a long-time reader, first time commenter. Figures that the prospect of free things would bring me out of hiding.)
Happy New Year, LifeHack!
Looking at the website I’m intrigued, I was expecting a much higher price point but these look so pretty for not too much.
I’m only leaving this to get a wallet. I have nothing meaningful to say.
Beautiful wallets: I hope I win one :)
Happy New Year to everyone….
No Trifold wallets? Must not be very popular. :(
I have a trifold.
These are really cool.
Wow! What fantastic wallets! Last year I would have probably immediately ordered one from their website, but this year I am going to be more frugal…
Forever and a day I’ve been wanting a new wallet but never actually found one so appealing as these!
I would definitely love one!
Nifty!
Terrific site and wallets!
every year i get myself a new wallet but am never satisfied-until now…i want that wood tone beauty

Lovely!
Excellent product – can I have a free one please?
Cool Beans! I want one.
Always reading along from Belgium – thanks for a year of excellent tips!
I have spent a fair piece of my life looking for the “ideal” wallet. I haven’t managed to find one yet, and these db clay wallets may not be that ideal, but they look a darned sight better than any others that I’ve tried! It would be a privilege to have one of these works of art in my pocket every day!
I wanna win that wallet!
The cashiers at McDonalds will be most impressed by my new wallet.
Lemme Win. Hehehe.
Great Blog. Learned about what to ask first before asking the biggest question in my life: HOW?
Keep it up!
What is the value of a man? If you disappeared would anyone miss you?
Hey, I want one.
I am in Ireland, the emerald island, so can I have a green one, please.
Happy New Year!
If my wallet is pretty I’ll spend less… Right?
I love the electronic dictionaries from PONS. They work with iFinger, a dictionary search engine.
This animation might give you a better and quicker overview about the possibilities of iFinger:
http://www.ifinger.com/support/see_it
The dictionaries are like modules that you can keep on adding to the ones you already have. In the animation you can see that when you look up one word you will get results from all the dictionaries you have installed. And the selection of reputable publishers is quite good:
* Bloomsbury
* Brockhaus
* Cappelen
* Ernst Klett Sprachen GmbH
* Espasa Calpe
* Gyldendal
* Hachette Multimedia
* Merriam-Webster
* Oxford university press
* Uitgeverij Het Spectrum
* Vega Forlag
* WSOY
* Zanichelli
I also once made a hopefully somewhat useful post about how you can speed up your search on the internet with the Firefox browser: http://projektleiterin.blogspot.com/2006/07/searching-internet-with-firefox.html
And yeah, I also want a wallet! :D
Wow, I have been a longtime reader on Lifehack but don’t comment often because I usually don’t have anything intelligent to say. I guess this kind of proves it. Regardless, keep up the good work and I’ll keep reading. Cheers to everyone and good luck to whoever wins the wallet.
My only fear is that I would pull my wallet out to look at the art and my slacker friends will think I am picking up the tab.
Those sure are pretty. It would make a nice compliment to my Jimi wallet.
something unique. and needed/
Delicious wallet! It will be a very good new year gift.
These wallets are beautiful. I’d love to have one!
great wallets!
Great wallets!
Thanks so much for all of your tips…I’ve gotten so much use out of this site!

I might stop using the chain wallet I have been wearing since October 1992 (it was a birthday gift from my highschool sweety) if I won one of these wallets.

great wallets….this is my first comment to a blog!
they are really work of art.. i will like to own one !!
thx
Wow those are amazing looking
Those are lovely!!!
wow
Great designs, and the idea that a work of art could also be practical and usable fascinates me. I’ve never had the urge to buy myself a wallet (as an artist, I like things to be a bit chaotic, as a girl, I do have a bag to carry the stuff around), but I definetely adore those.
Very nice wallets. Colourful….pretty
When you said to post something useful, I was going to post OMG V!@GR@ or something like that, but I decided it would probably get caught by spam filters.
How could I NOT comment on this one!
Anthony
AnthonyM83@gmail.com
Ah how sexy
a wallet like that would remind me of my money saving and life affirming spending plan.
Only buy it if it is beautiful and special and you’ll truly appreciate it. Never just because it’s a good deal.
i think i may be 2 late….
I’m a bum.
I don’t know if you’ve heard this one yet, but hot salt water helps get splinters and glass in cuts out.
These look beautiful and seem to be made great. Great partnership to advertisement and a great opportunity for loyal readers like ourselves!
Thanks!
Brian
beautiful wallets! thanks for having the contest, lifehack!
Well its 2008, i don’t actually have a wallet, it seems that lifehack will be the one giving me the sense of faith to have one and then continue earning money for that wallet to be buff and beefy , as we filipinos say ” Pag may sinuksok may madudukot “(if you put something on it you can pull it out for a better purpose)

Any chance it comes “pre-loaded”?
My wallet looks soooo drab in comparison!
entering once again for one of those classy wallets!
Would be nice to silk print your own patterns for your ready-made wallet!
wow those are really interesting…i hope i win
never know that there is a wallet like db clay wallets in this world. it so artistic.
Wish i’ll be back home in Malaysia to be with my boyfriend on his birthday on January 22. But if not, the db wallet would be perfect gift for him (although not as perfect as me.. lol).
btw i’m in new zealand.
Lovely wallets!
Wonderful wallets.
Cool wallets.
I did a post on db clay in 2006 on their gaffer tape wallets. They started out making duct tape wallets. Gaffer Tape is similar to duct tape but has some better properties. Now I see they’re using Tope. I guess that’s their version 3.
I like those so much!

I like the one with the landscape! Remembers me of holidays now that I am stuck in the office.
And this would be my second entry for this wallet. =)
Great, let’s try!
Those are way too cool to sit on all day!

I’ve been wanting a new wallet for a while.
Hammertime!
Very cool wallets.
Awesome wallets.
Would be a great ‘signature item’/part of a signature look.
wow. those are beautiful!
Cool wallets…thanks for the contest.
I could use a new wallet.
I have the GTD framework on my desktop, but maybe a wallet with the same?
Anyway, I love the wallet angle – we use it fairly often, not so often as to be numbed but a reminder at random, yet important times.
Cheers!
Norris
Thank you for this amazing website (and these contests).
Those are some simply amazing wallets.
I’m in – they look beautiful.
Seems like an interesting concept for a wallet.
Nice, I like the horse one.
Amazing. I remember seeing something similar in an accessories store in Sedona. Love it.
Just what I need!
Great giveaway! I this website and have the gadget on my homepage.
What a great giveaway! I would love to win.
Nice stuff, I would love to win one :)
Those are very cool. Maybe I would be lucky.
I could use a new wallet.
Clay is ok – Haq my pants!
Love LifeHaq!
Awesome wallet!
But, as it’s so attractive, how could it “improve” one’s productivity? Maybe one good effect is it makes you feel happy when you think of that it’s free.
Life is one big hack to the next level…
The best hack I can offer is to live life with the knowlege that it will end one day. You are not immortal (I know that’s a surpise to some of you out there). Many people in this day and age don’t think about the end of life, but if you live life with an awareness of your own mortality you are more apt to live life to its fullest!
wow sure would be nice to win one of those
That woodgrain is pretty sweet. I’d like to find a jacket that matches.
Always wanted one, just not high enough on my list.
