Write A Personal Mission Statement In 5 Steps

Mission statements are a great way to define direction and maintain focus. Using one for yourself could make a big difference to how you reach your goals.

Randall S. Hansen, Ph.D. is a fan and has a 5 step plan to writing a good, personal mission statement.

A personal mission statement, is of course personal… but if you want to truly see whether you have been honest in developing your personal mission statement, I suggest sharing the results of this process with one or more people who are close to you. Ask for their feedback.

While reading this you’ll find it is clearly geared towards the job market. However, the steps can be easily transfered into your personal life, whatever your goal may be.

    Earlier this week, I started a movement to get bloggers and readers to share their statements with each other.

    It takes a while to write a statement if you’ve never done it, so the responses are still trickling in, but I’d encourage everyone to give it a look and accept the challenge.

    Be prepared for truthful feedback, and remind yourself that the honesty is for your improvement as well.

    And Chuck Im willing to accept that challenge. Give me a day or two to write that mission statement .
