Paper vs. Digital Debate: The Answer

In productivity blogosphere, there are countless arguments between two camps: paper vs digital. Along with the evolution of my productivity system, I agree what Glen Stansberry at LifeDev describes in this article - we can use both together as they can co-exist and work well together:

Well, I can answer that question in one word: Both. You see, both have the features that are great for different things. Both have limitations that the other tries to fix. However, there is a way to create a system based around both forms of productivity.

Like we learned earlier: Creativity flourishes with paper and pen, and digital systems are better for organization, collaboration and storage. But unfortunately, there is no solution for people who want to combine the two. It seems like you’re just stuck with one, longing for better parts of the other. The whole “grass is greener on the other side” complex.

Yet this struck me: If there are pieces of each that are better than the other, why can’t we use both? The answer is really much more simple than you’d think: Use both paper and digital tools to effectively plan and capture ideas. It’s really not that hard.
