The ole’ Moleskine notebook. It’s become a standard for writers, creative types and GTD-wannabes the world over. Ever want to just make your own? Michael Shannon has got you covered.

All you need is: A bookbinders needle, Beeswax, A bookbinders awl, Adhesive, Xacto knife, Ruler, T-square, Heavy books, Pencil, Bone folder [some really strong fingernails] & Binder clips.

    I skimmed this because I use and like Moleskines. This is ridiculous unless you are unemployed or wealthy (or both) and have time to make your own books. Just go buy a Moleskine, or better yet a riteintherain bound notebook.

    As someone who likes the idea of making things for himself, I really like the idea. Thankyou for sharing the knowledge. I’ve always been fascinated by books with cheesecloth ends and never thought it would be possible to make your own at home. This is not to say I will be making one in the short term future, but I’ll know where to find guidance if I want to. Thanks.
