Do Someday Tasks Some Day

Do Someday Tasks Some Day

We all have those tasks and projects that we plan on doing ’someday’. The problem is that someday isn’t very specific. Will you ever do these things? Someday, maybe; but how about we schedule these one day?

Don’t worry about how silly or trivial they might sound. Don’t think about how ‘unimportant’ they are. If you genuinely want to do them they are neither silly, trivial or unimportant. Instead start thinking about what you can do to make them real, and realizable. Turn them into real goals with real deadline, just like any other important project.

Keeping ’someday’ tasks isn’t going to do you much good until you actually plan to do them! It’s as simple as penciling in a date and getting started.

Love the site…Long time “listener” first time “caller” :-)

My someday list tends to be more of the traditional “Someday/Maybe” list.(if you can call anything GTD “traditional)

As such, I review it on my weekly review and remove items that I’ve decided not to do ever, or promote tasks to “active” if the time is right.

As a general rule, actions and projects make it to the Someday/Maybe list because I am unsure of their importance yet, or I know I want to do them, but they are low priority, and “now” is not the time to focus on them.
