However, a little known fact is that you can save lots of money by making major purchases when the timing is most advantageous for the consumer. Do we need to assume a Northern Hemisphere calendar? Some of the items listed with specific months, e.g. Boats and outdoor gear, look more like seasonal lows - winter/late winter.

For some of us, that’s more likely to be June, July and August, rather than Jan, Feb and March.

I would argue that December (in the Northern Hemisphere in countries where Christmas is widely celebrated) is actually the best month to buy real estate. It’s cold, and everyone is too pre-occupied with holiday festivities to deal with a move. Our ex-roommate got a great deal on a condo by moving into her new place mid-December.

I tried to buy an AC unit in September. Had one to pick from in all of the city of NY. Ended out going to NJ PC richards. No discount. I just don’t see them stocking any of them in January. Seasonal sales bring prices down for items. Home Depot doesn’t have sales on Grills in January or February so I can’t see any bargins in off months.
