Trade your DVDs, CDs, and Games

20070305-switchplanet.gif

SwitchPlanet is a site that lets you trade the DVDs, CDs, and games you no longer want for stuff that you do want. SwitchPlanet lets you enter your preferences for the stuff you want, and what you’re willing to trade. What’s particularly nice about SwitchPlanet is that it’s free to join, and SwitchPlanet does not charge a “commission” for any exchanges — it really is completely free to use. Right now SwitchPlanet only lets you trade DVDs, CDs, and games, but they plan to expand to allow books, clothing, electronics, and tools.

It is our goal to establish SwitchPlanet.com as a premier online community that is committed to helping reduce the impact waste is having on the planet by trading the things we no longer use to get the things we want.

“Use more…waste less.”

Interesting. I’ve been working on a website to do this, but strictly for video games (it’s still a work in progress at this point).

It appears they get all of their product data from Amazon.com through the E-commerce service, like I do. I wonder how they circumvent the once-per-second limit on lookups. Interesting. I certainly like the layout better than zunafish.com.
