So what is being a egomaniac good for? IMHO that will only lead to avoidable mistakes. Being able to look critically at your[self|work] is not a thing egomaniacs are good at.
Could it be that that point is just a filler, and the author tought it must be good because he had such a gigantic boner?

I look at those and think to myself “that is me.” Although I don’t think I am an egomaniac, but then again; maybe that is one of the traits of a ego maniac.

I posted the same comment on the website that has this article, but I figured I’d post it here as well.
So the question to ask next is “I’m an entrepreneur, now what?”

I just applied for a CEO position today with a greenfield startup that can’t pay $#!%, so I think one might be well advised to add “crazy risk taker” to the list!

Yeah, the egomaniac thing is the only one I disagree with as well (can’t imagine anybody would actually agree to that one in their head)
I like the “now what” comment jdan posted, because otherwise………. yeah, kewl…..good to know…..>? I guess :p
Also, maybe they it should list
-have unfinished ‘projects’
-lots of ‘goals’ to complete

I had a conversation with my dad last night, as I’m currently in the process of trying to change jobs, and I think this would have been a great list to explain to him why I feel like I need to leave a good job (economically) for what might be a better job (passion/spirit). As I’ve said on my blog post you don’t have to be a start up risk-taker to be an entrepreneur. You can be an entrepreneur within an organization - a person who offers new ideas, has passion, vision, is thinking well ahead of the present, etc.
And with regards to the problems with the term ego-maniac I’ve always referred to it as oozing self confidence. I know what I want, I know who I am, I know where I’m going, and I’m comfortable with how I’m going to get there. It goes along well with Keter’s “crazy risk taker” assessment. An ego-maniac simply isn’t afraid of what’s to come because they know they can handle it - and if they can’t, there is always the next item on the list - I don’t know, but I’ll figure it out.

I agree with that list entirely (and I’m glad to say I am all of those things), the only area of doubt is ‘egomaniac’. I can’t deny that online it’s a lot easier to get carried away…
