Tips for the First Day On The Job
Lizzy Klein over Get Your Life On has an good article on what should you do on your first day on the job. Most important is getting the first good impression from your boss, your colleagues, or your sub-ordinates. She provided some good tips on achieving this:
- Dress conservatively at first.
- Adjust that attitude.
- Smile.
- Make an effort to remember names.
- Arrive early or at least on time and leave late.
- Introduce yourself.
- Show that team spirit.
- Ask questions.
- Leave Late.

Another good tip is to make sure you take good notes so you don’t have to keep asking the same questions each day. Also don’t let the cat jump on your new laptop and rip 3 keys off of it!
