The 10/20/30 Rule of PowerPoint

Presentation Guru Guy Kawasaki introduces a rule called 10/20/30 PowerPoint rule in one of his recent blog posts. What is it? He describes, “a PowerPoint presentation should have ten slides, last no more than twenty minutes, and contain no font smaller than thirty points.” He mentions this is extremely important rule to follow when you present your startup idea to venture capitalist, but it can also apply to any presentation that require to reach agreement (making a sale, or forming a partnership etc). I extremely like the 10 slides ideas - Guy even suggested 10 topics if you are promoting your company’s idea to venture capitalists:

  1. Problem
  2. Your solution
  3. Business model
  4. Underlying magic/technology
  5. Marketing and sales
  6. Competition
  7. Team
  8. Projections and milestones
  9. Status and timeline
  10. Summary and call to action

What a gold mine reference!
