Send Messages via Del.icio.us

Ozgur at Marketallica has come up with an interesting way to get a message to a del.icio.us user. It’s a bit of a hack to say the least, but for some reason, I think that maybe Osgur’s idea scales into something else, as well as his idea. Judge for yourself.

Ozgur’s idea is this:

  • Find the del.icio.us ID of the person to whom you want to send a message.
  • Create a small webpage with ShortText.com
  • Bookmark that page on del.icio.us using the for: functionality

Voila.

Ozgur’s premise is that this gets around the “I don’t know this person’s email address” issue. What do YOU think? First, how else would Ozgur reach out to people without their email? Second, what else might you use the for: functionality for on del.icio.us?
