A substantial portion of my work is pursuing receivables, an a lot of the people I’m calling really don’t want to talk to me. So the message I leave is a pleasantly toned —

“Hello, my name is TribalElder, and I represent Client Company. I’m another pesky lawyer looking for money. Call me at 555-###-####”

It works for both voicemail and gatekeeper secretaries. About 75% of the debtors return that call. I suspect the reason it works is it’s true, direct and it doesn’t sound starchy or self-important.

Hell no and I’m getting out. I think humor and personal growth are necessary to combat the struggle to “optimize” the bottom line. Success naturally comes forth when our inner self is more fully engaged and at peace. Humor can relax the moment, definitely.

Adrian, that’s brilliant! I can’t believe I never considered the impact of alternative spellings on market impact! I sense an article coming on.

What about the possibility of pulling out of Iraq, letting Iran invade and lose resources fighting their own kind,
and then come in and mop up the dregs?
