Nice Clean Map Hack
Chris from Pin In the Map has put together what he refers to as kind of a tinurl for maps. When you go through the whole pinning your target location, there’s a new step of adding comments in an easy-clean box, a few saves later, and you get a fairly short URL. Mine looked like this: http://pininthemap.com/57aeb9a3c2e08ba8a.
And I’ll say it: Chris’s Pin In The Map is an even “cleaner” looking skin of Google Maps than Google. How often can you say that?

Have a look also at http://www.aardvarkmap.net
It allows you to plot multiple points on to Google Maps, write custom text for each (with or without a link), add optional data overlays, and you can embed maps into websites or forum posts. (plus it’s free!)
