Next Action: A web based Getting Things Done todo list
Here is another web tool has just released called Next Action. It is a free open source web tool and supports all GTD actions, contexts and projects. It operates similar to GTDTiddlyWiki which needs to be run on the local disk – that’s mean you do not need to online to use this software.
Instruction to use:
- Currently it supports Firefox only, so remember to use Firefox browser
- Save Next Action into your computer by right click on the download link and click Save Link As…
- Open your newly saved html file from File menu and then Open File…
- When you ready to save your changes, to go File menu and then Save Page As…
It would be great if you have any feedbacks or tips on using this software.

Hi, I wrote the thing. Don’t forget to Save As type: “Web Page, complete”, so that it works correctly.
If you do “Web Page, HTML only”, it won’t work.

Great program, Steve. If you’ve read Getting Things Done, you will love Next Action

This is the coolest app! But can someone please tell me if I can use next action on a palm pilot or treo? And if I can synch it with my mac?

Immediately converted! I love the simplicity of NextAction. I tried TiddlyWiki, even though I am a bit technical, I could not be bothered getting my head around the customisation. With NextAction it is just so easy to get started and I can view all tasks by projects, not jsut by next action, oh bliss!! I will dump my homemade Outlook forms and use this immediately.
