Those are some good lines, hey great blog by the way. I’m surprised you get so few comments on here, I would have thought you would get a lot of traffic… My blog gets practically no comments, either, but the stuff I have is not as helpful as the stuff on here.

Having been in the retail racket for 14 years I can honestly say that those all don’t work. Why? Because they’re really annoying and chances are the person you are talking to has absolutely no say in determining the price.
I’ve had people say all of those to me before and honestly I wanted to help them even less afterward; and I was a customer-oriented type of retail worker. I would largely ignore all the pressure I was supposed to put on people to squeeze money out of their wallet and instead focus on how I could get them the best for the least.
It’s all about the “problem customer” – people are under the impression that the more obnoxious you are the more you’ll get attention. They’re right, it’s just that the person behind the counter loses all desire to make you happy in the future.
