Over at Westshore Community College, it has a very good quick guide on how to use the Cornell Note Taking Method. In this note taking system, you have note taking area to record meaningful notes; A Cue column for reducing your notes to clues for reviewing and reciting, and summaries for summarize the whole page of notes. One of the good things for using this note taking system is that the format will give you opportunities to go through five R’s: Record, Reduce, Recite, Reflect and Review.

Great method! After seeing this site I was inspired to write up a little web application that allows students to create custom note taking sheets that make using the Cornell Method a bit easier. It will generate a note page with lines, gridlines, or blank and I’m taking suggestions on how to make it even better. Thanks again for pointing me to it!
